People say that? What was so surprising about the ending? *scratches head*

7. Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie = ♥! This was the first movie I've ever watched in a cinema, and I had my parents my ears stuffed with tissue the whole time because I found the sound scary back then. Good times, good times. ^^;;

Hmm, I'm not sure what kind of movies in particular you'd appreciate -- good ones? ;P How about some of these films, if you haven't seen them:

  • No Country for Old Men; Daniel Day Lewis = reason for living. Delivery of a strong, memorable performance. The Oscar was well-derserved, especially in a year of slightly dull releases.

  • Eastern Promises; this is actually really good imo, even though I didn't watch the whole movie.

  • Paris, Je T'aime*; I want to watch this myself! :D

  • Be Kind Rewind*; from acclaimed artful French filmmaker Michel Gondry (I hail), seems interesting as he always is. Jack Black/Mos Def acts = more fun.

  • Big Fish; a Time Burton feature without his supposedly dark, gothic trademark of films, and without Johnny Depp. This one's a bit more fancy and light on the visuals. Great storyline, too.

  • Once; for goodness's sake, watch this one. I think you're gonna like it. Won Oscar for 'Best Original Song'.

  • Adaptation; a rather brilliant collab between Spike Jonze/Charlie Kaufman after their Being John Malkovich. A seemingly simple story, but with an interesting twist.

  • Being Julia; Subtly "dramatic" portrayals (it is about a theatre diva afterall) and captivating scenes, especially the few ones with the young ♥Tom Sturridge♥ in 'em. ;D

  • (Btw, they replaced him with Hayden Christensen -- whose appeal I don't quite get, sry2say -- for the lead in Jumper, but although that meant we (I) didn't get to see more of Tom, I'd say it's good that he didn't go all commercial, mainstream popular just yet. I know my bb's ~classier~ than that.)

Oh, and the ones with asterisks are the ones I haven't watched but would love to. I hope I didn't get too crazy/elaborate/spammy with the recs though, lol. I guess that's good for now, ciao! 8D

I had the VCR for Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie and I watched it like 500 times. When I saw it again recently after so many years, I was surprised I still remember some of the lines. ;p

Thanks for the recs, yay! :D Did you mix up No Country For Old Men with There Will Be Blood? Because I'm pretty sure Daniel Day-Lewis wasn't in the former. I just saw TWBB and I didn't particularly enjoy it, though.

I saw Big Fish a few years ago and I loved it. It made me feel all warm inside. The sunflowers scene, especially. I saw Paris, je t'aime on cinema and while some segments were rather well done, some of them were a little too blah so I didn't find it an all-too-memorable film.

I'm downloading Once. :) I have a friend who really loved it, too.

(I honestly didn't think Hayden was hot at all until like, recently. I've no idea what changed my mind, lol. Have to admit that he's a very mediocre actor, though. Much like the sexy Keanu Reeves.)

Hi Yuffie! Long time no comment on your journal. Let's get on to the recommendations, shall we (you know how much I love this part!)?

1. The Departed, 2006(must. see. I won't take no for an answer)
2. Goodfellas, (another Martin Scorsese must-watch)
3. Misery, 1990 (I remember watching this as a kid, the details are a bit fuzzy but really excellent movie; if you could watch RFaD then you'd have no trouble watching this)
4. The Count of Monte Cristo, 2002 (I personally haven't read the book but a lot of people said that the movie ruined the book. Still, quite great movie and worthy to watch for the hotness that is the insanely hot Jim Caviezel and young Henry Cavill(!) )
5. The Last Castle, 2001 (you'll like this, i promise!)

There are tonsss of movies I wanna rec but for the life of me I just can't remember them now. I'll get back to this sooner or later, mmkay? In the meantime, watch all these movies! I promise you won't be disappointed. :)
